this is a picture of new years in hong kong. the street is called lan kwai fong.... its a popular spot for westerners, however there was a good mix on new years.... sooooo crowded and cold!! it was the coldest new year's in 20 years. there is no central heat in most places in china and as far as i know hong kong either (in the south its not really necessary,usually). we stayed at the ywca, which was really nice however extremely cold, my bones ached when i woke up in the morning cuz i was so cold. my friend amy comes by susan and i's room in the morning opens, this big cabinet and says, look what i just found this morning.....two huge extra blankets. not quite sure how i feel about that, next time i'll certainly search the room up and down.
